VALLEY OF THE BUTTERFLIES

On the road connecting Parikia with Aliki, about 5 km from Parikia, a left turn from the main road leads to the area of Psychopiana, where the monastery of “Christ in the Forest” is located. Slightly to the west lies the Valley of the Butterflies, one of the most important habitats in Greece.

The area, with its flowing streams and lush vegetation, provides an ideal environment for hundreds of butterflies that migrate here during the summer months.
