PAROS – ANTIPAROS HOTELIER ASSOCIATION

For nature lovers, Paros offers beautiful hiking trails, such as the Byzantine Path from Lefkes to Prodromos, with breathtaking views of the Cycladic landscape. In Antiparos, a visit to the Cave of Antiparos is a must, with its impressive stalactites and stalagmites millions of years old.
Hiking in Paros is a very popular activity, thanks to the many routes and spots you can explore in every corner of the island. Essential equipment includes comfortable shoes, water, and sunscreen.

Suggested Routes:

Parikia – Agios Fokas (Distance: 4 km)
This route essentially circles the bay of Parikia. Agios Fokas is a beautiful, picturesque church at the northern entrance of the bay. The walk is particularly pleasant, as the path runs along the seaside almost the entire way.
From the northern part of Livadia Beach, a trail begins which leads you to Krios Beach.
Continue along the sandy shoreline, passing Marcello Beach.
Then, follow the asphalt road until the point where it veers right, away from the sea.
Instead, keep straight on the path starting there. At the end, you will reach the Church of Agios Fokas.

Parikia – Lefkes (Distance: 11 km)
This route is best suited for those who hike often.
The distance to this beautiful village is quite long, and the road is uphill for almost its entire length. However, the destination is one of the most charming villages of Paros, with traditional alleys, tavernas, and cafés. The view from Lefkes is also magnificent. Getting there is simple: follow the main road from Parikia heading east. Just outside the capital, you’ll reach a junction – left leads to Naoussa, right to Lefkes.

Parikia – Monastery of Agioi Anargyroi (Distance: 3 km)
The Monastery of Agioi Anargyroi is built on the mountain slopes visible to the southeast. Many of the most impressive photos of Parikia and its bay have been taken from this spot. Keep in mind that the road is uphill, so bring plenty of water and a snack. The panoramic photos you’ll take from the top will be well worth it.

Naoussa – Kolymbithres (Distance: 5 km)
An easy route suitable for everyone, ending at one of the most famous and unique beaches of the Aegean. Directions are hardly necessary: follow the main road toward Parikia, and at the junction where the road veers away from the sea, turn right, as the signs indicate. After enjoying your swim, if you don’t want to hike back, you can take one of the boats that ferry visitors to and from the beach. You can also extend your trip to Monastiri Beach and the Paros Environmental Park.

Naoussa – Ambelas – Santa Maria (Distance: 10 km)
This triangular route can also be done in sections. The first leg, Naoussa – Ambelas, is 4 km. Start by following the main road to Marpissa until you see the left turn to Ambelas, marked by a sign. From there, the road descends to the village and its small seaside square, with a characteristic tree at its center.
From this square begins the second leg, Ambelas – Santa Maria, about 3 km long. Follow the coastal road north, which leads to the small rocky islet of Filidi.
From there, pass the houses and continue along the beach until you reach Santa Maria.
The last leg, Santa Maria – Naoussa, is 4 km. The walk is pleasant and flat, with the second half offering beautiful views of Naoussa Bay.

Paros Environmental Park
Located on the northeastern side of Naoussa Bay, the Environmental Park of Paros includes the famous Monastiri Beach. Inside the park, there are marked trails. The longest route circles the peninsula and ends at the much-photographed lighthouse. Since your starting and ending point is Monastiri Beach, you can easily combine your hike with a refreshing swim and sunbathing.
