Parikia, built roughly in the middle of Paros’ western coast around a large and safe bay, is the island’s capital, serving as its administrative and economic center, as well as its passenger and commercial port.
Here you will find branches of most banks, a post office, a health center, internet cafés, travel agencies, and car rental offices.
In Parikia and the surrounding area, there are beautiful and easily accessible beaches, such as Livadia, Krios, Marcello, Kaminia, Souvlia, Parasporos, and Agia Irini.
Dozens of hotels, rental rooms, and campsites (Livadia, Krios, Parasporos) offer visitors the opportunity to choose accommodation that suits them. However, we recommend that visitors ensure a comfortable and seamless stay by booking in advance at one of the island’s licensed accommodations. We also advise against taking risks by trusting anyone offering lodging upon arrival at the port of Parikia.
A stroll through the town reveals tavernas, mezedopolia, and restaurants serving delicious dishes from local, Greek, and international cuisine. Shops of all kinds line the streets around the Castle (the old market) and the coastal road.
The sunset grants Parikia scenes of unique beauty. As the colors of dusk fade, the city’s nightlife begins.
The dozens of bars, cafés, live music venues, and clubs come alive, with entertainment lasting until the early hours of the morning.
